An easy-to-use tool for assessing symbolic skills, TASP provides a starting point for
- designing a communication board
- selecting an appropriate Alternative/Augmentative Communication (AAC) device page set
- establishing appropriate AAC intervention goals for symbolic and syntactic development
Additionally, the test serves as a tool to benchmark progress in aided communication performance.
TASP uses Picture Communication Symbols (PCS) and complements other components of the AAC assessment process.
Subtests, which can be administered over a period of sessions, are included for:

Basals and ceilings are established for each subtest.
