IntelliTools’ ReadyMade Story Kits are thematic units based on adapted and original stories or songs and feature patterned language and familiar refrains. Each adventure begins by reading a printed storybook and is enhanced with a lively Interactive Storybook with animations for engaging fun. Further onscreen reading experiences include both fiction and non-fiction texts. Each Story Kit includes up to 35 standards-aligned activities newly created in IntelliTools Classroom Suite, equipped with answer checking so teachers can assess a student’s progress. Teachers are further supported with an extensive resource PDF full of printable games and away-from-the-computer activities.
Animal Habitats lets early learners travel with the Curious Polar Bear to five habitats. Six non-fiction stories featuring beautiful photographs of animals take students to the jungle, grasslands, mountains, arctic, and desert to learn about the animals and each habitat. Throughout, 35 activities provide practice in phonics skills, comprehension, classification, number concepts, math operations, pattern and more.
The adventure begins by reading ‘The Curious Polar Bear’ story, available in print and electronic form. Then students visit each of the five habitats, where they:
- Meet the local animals
- Learn interesting animal facts
- Listen to animal rhymes
- Identify initial sounds
