Image of Number TrackPeople with dyscalculia and dyslexia often encounter problems with the language of mathematics, sequencing, orientation and memory, rather than mathematics itself. Often those who have poor memory systems will lack self-belief. This easy-to-use CD-ROM in the Track Series enables users to learn in a way that best suits their individual learning style.

Number Track allows you to produce a fully configurable range of interactive, multi-sensory electronic activities that deal with basic concepts, which are fun and motivating but not childish or threatening. Dyslexic and dyscalculic learners may be slow to learn counting sequences – especially counting backwards – and will need additional practice in counting orally.

With the same “look and feel” as the popular Alphabet Track, Number Track has the added facility to record your own counting sequences and teaching resources include the facility to generate personalised worksheets to suit individual need.

Number Track concentrates on the following key objectives with particular support for those having difficulty mastering these concepts:

  • Count reliably at least 20 objects
  • Count forward and back in ones from any small number
  • Read, write and order numbers from 0 to 20
  • Understand and use the vocabulary of comparing and ordering these numbers
  • Know by heart all pairs of numbers with a total of 10

Screenshots of Number TrackSuitable for mainstream students and learners of all ages with specific learning difficulties, such as dyscalculia and dyslexia, Number Track activities are invaluable for use both within the inclusive classroom and as helpful reinforcements.

Number Track activities concentrate on numbers and the number system and include:

  • Count and Record – choose to listen and then record your own counting. You can even record yourself counting in a different language
  • Match the Number – match numbers up to 20. Choose to match up numbers, words and spoken words in many combinations
  • Pairs – Number bonds to 10. Try to complete the correct number bonds to 10 quickly and automatically
  • Missing Numbers – find the missing numbers from a variety of sequences
  • Muddled Numbers – work out which numbers have changed places
  • Sequences – can you complete the sequence to 10 and to 20?
  • Middles – work out the numbers that go before and after
  • Think of a Number – Number Quiz: answer the questions with the right number. How well do you know your numbers?

Printable records and teacher resources help make Number Track more helpful.
