What is Makaton?
Makaton is often known as key word sign and gesture. It is system of communication based on a combination of spoken words, sign language vocabulary (originally adapted from British Sign Language), and graphic symbols.
The idea is to use key word signing to support the communication development of children or adults who are unable to speak, or whose speech is difficult to understand.
Key Signs: A Supplement to Makaton Vocabulary Auslan Edition
This book follows the same layout as the Makaton Vocabulary – Auslan Edition book.
It contains 290 additional everyday signs that you will love, including – socks, McDonald’s, netball, Santa, koala, ant, milkshake, underpants, vegemite, frog and 283 more useful signs! In alphabetical order with instructions.
All of the signs presented in this book are Auslan signs. The Key Signs book also includes regional variations.
