Add more voices to your Mac

Infovox iVox provides Mac OS X users with the best voices ever on the Mac. You won’t believe your ears hearing these naturally-sounding voices, available in many different languages. You can also use Infovox iVox with Mac OS X built-in speech and accessibility features. Including the Mac OS X built-in VoiceOver screen reader. Non-English users now have the possibility to hear all the VoiceOver menus and messages in their own language by using the Infovox iVox voices for their own language.

Infovox iVox was developed by the Acapela Group, the European leader in speech technologies, and is distributed worldwide by AssistiveWare. Infovox iVox is a Universal Binary and can be used on PowerPC and Intel Macs.

Infovox iVox includes all voices available for a language of choice (see Infovox iVox Voices table below). The following languages are available on Mac OS X 10.4:

Arabic, Turkish, Czech, Greek, Russian and Polish languages require Mac OS X 10.5 or later.

For most languages, male and female voices are available (certain languages include multiple male and/or female voices). The US English even includes two child voices. All non-US English languages include one US English female voice as a bonus. If you want to have multiple languages, you can buy Infovox iVox plus one or more language packs.

For example, if you order the US English Language version you will get the following iVox voices: Heather, Laura, Ryan, Kenny, Nelly, Jane, and John.
If you order the European Language version and specify the UK English language, you will receive the UK English voices Peter, Rachel, Lucy, Graham, Roger and the US English female voice Heather as a bonus.

Please observe the following restrictions on voice output and files: Acapela Group only permits personal use of the voices and generated audio files (publication of personal content on the web is ok). Commercial use is prohibited in all cases. The School and Classroom licences permit educational use in the school or classroom, but do not allow publication of audio files outside the classroom or school (not even for free).
