Each program in the Early Vocabulary Development Series offers five training levels:
- Instructional Introduction uses a single picture in the middle of the screen. Instruction, cueing, and feedback are included.
- Single Picture Training offers a picture that relocates left or right. Instruction, cueing, and feedback are used.
- Basic Two-Picture Training adds a second picture and provides instruction, cueing, and feedback.
- Intermediate Training includes instruction and feedback, but cueing is faded.
- Advanced Training gives feedback only.
Plus, you’ll find these activities:
- Optimised Intervention®
This activity automatically assesses a student’s knowledge of the vocabulary items and delivers highly individualised treatment. Based on a student’s responses, the program moves among five training levels, each with a different amount of instructional support.
- Testing
This activity can be used to document pre- or post-training performance.
- 3 Supplemental Activities
In addition to the Sterling Optimised Intervention®, testing and training activities above, you’ll find three supplemental activities to enhance your student learning experience.
- Word Introduction – presents one word at a time on a black background, e.g., “What’s this?” “It’s a bus.”
- Slide Show – presents one word at a time as a slide show, e.g., “What’s she doing?” “She’s singing.”
- Zot Routines – provide exposure to Zot’s enriched language, e.g., “I want a glass of milk.
Mmmm, I love milk.
I’ll pour milk into my cup.”
- Word Introduction – presents one word at a time on a black background, e.g., “What’s this?” “It’s a bus.”
