Overwhelmed by the time required to plan and design communication displays or overlays? Help has arrived! Collectively, Communication Displays for Engineered Preschool Environments Books I and II provide a total of 396 communication displays. The displays in Books I and II are based on the same 100 activities, but are laid out in different configurations. These displays were designed for preschool environments, but may also be used appropriately with the early school-age population. The activities on the displays deal with:
- Daily routine
- Self-help skills
- Toys
- Fine-motor skills
- Pretend play
- Gross-motor skills

The overlay activity topics are the same in Display Books I and II. The number of symbols and the configuration of the displays are different.
Book I contains 123 displays with 16 symbols each, and 114 horseshoe eye-point displays with 13 symbols each.
Book II contains 80 displays with 32 symbols each, and 79 displays with 36 symbols each.
Both Display Books I and II are available on CD-ROM to save you even more time! To take advantage of this you must have Boardmaker software installed. The displays are comprised of black and white symbols on colour-coded backgrounds (according to the Goossens’ colour-coded system). They are ready to print as is, using Boardmaker, or can be easily customised.
