Economical ways to save on software purchases for multiple users

Classroom Suite 4 is available at discounted pricing for bulk purchases.

Multi-User Purchase Options:

• Stand-alone Multi-User Licences

  Each stand-alone licence can be installed and used on only one computer. Multi-user licences are available for as many users as you need starting with five.

  Each Stand-alone package contains:
  

  • Stand-alone installation CDs (1 Mac, 1 Win)
    
  • Card with activation number
    
  • QuickStart Guide
    
  • Skills charts for Reading, Writing and Math
    
  • Voice CD (for Windows only)

  To be eligible for this discounted purchasing, these volume purchases must be purchased on the one order, requiring only one invoice, and for delivery to one address.

• Network Version (no longer available – Network Version with Web Licensing is still available)

  The network version permits students and teachers to access the program from any supported Windows or Macintosh workstation (client) on a school’s local area network – from the classroom, a resource room or a lab – while eliminating the need for students to handle a CD. It permits teachers to track student progress from any workstation on the network and provides teachers access to a password-protected Teacher Options area.

  • Students can use the software from any supported Windows or Macintosh workstation connected to a local area network (LAN)
    
  • Program files are stored on a network server, and thus the use of a CD at each workstation is not required
    
  • All records of student progress and student preferences are stored on the server so students can use any workstation on the LAN
    
  • Access to the Teacher Options area of the software is password-protected
    
  • As a student enters a new lesson, files needed for that lesson are temporarily copied to the local hard drive for faster user access
    
  • To protect the integrity of student data, each student may only be signed in to the program on one workstation at a time
    
  • Student names (user names) can be created within the Network Version program or by importing a list (a text file) from another source
    
  • A student name can be changed or edited without deleting that student’s portfolio
    
  • Export data automatically – Activity data can be saved automatically for importing into a school database
    
  • Import district rosters – Easily import lists of students, teachers and classes to make setting up classes a breeze
    
  • Publish activities across your school campus – You can share activities easily across your campus by publishing them simultaneously to multiple servers in your school campus.

  The Network version of Classroom Suite is purchased by number of workstations. The minimum number of workstations to initiate a Network License is 2 (two). There is no additional cost for installing Classroom Suite on multiple servers which can span a School or Site. .

  The network server software is installed on the server and limits the number of users who can simultaneously (or concurrently) access the software to the number of licences purchased. To move licences from one server to another, please contact technical support.

  Once you purchase the network version of Classroom Suite, your Network Administrator will receive:
  

  • Network installation CD (1 Mac, 1 Win)
    
  • Network Installation Guide for Admin
    
  • QuickStart Guide
    
  • Skills charts for Reading, Writing and Math
    
  • Voice CD (for Windows only)

  You will have the right to make as many copies of the documentation needed to support your teachers, or you can purchase the documentation directly from Spectronics at the time of purchase.

• Network Version with Web Licensing

  This network version offers all the features and benefits of the normal network version above, however licence tracking takes place via the Internet, not via the local area network and the organisation’s server. Client machines communicate via the Internet to a licence server hosted by Cambium. This allows an organisation to efficiently pool their concurrent licences by tracking all of them from a central location. This is particularly useful for sites with installations on multiple servers.

  Take-home CDs – Customers of the Network Version with Web Licensing can also copy and distribute the Take-Home CDs to teachers, parents and students in their organisation. Each Take-home CD is a stand-alone copy that borrows a licence from the network version total licence count. However, as stand-alone software, they do not access the school network, so they cannot access any files or assignments on the network. An active Internet connection is required to use the Take Home CDs.

  When purchasing the Network Version with Web Licensing of Classroom Suite, your Network Administrator must include the following information with the purchase order:
  

  • Number of licenses
    
  • Site name (school or district name)
    
  • Email address and username for the primary network contact

  Each purchase of the Network Version with Web Licensing of Classroom Suite will receive:
  

  • Network installation CD (1 Mac, 1 Win)
    
  • Network Installation Guide for Admin
    
  • QuickStart Guide
    
  • Skills charts for Reading, Writing and Math
