A switch accessible calculator for a computer
A scanning calculator and inclusive maths aid for Windows with many features including:
- Multiple key layout options and access modes are provided to suit specific teacher and student needs
- Edit and reassign key names and functions
- Display calculator key-layouts at any size up to full screen, with easy-to-read keys and digits
- Enter answers with or without using the calculator functions
- Specify and save Layout, Access, Sound, Misc. and Work options
- Display or print records of student progress
- Scan/switch/dwell access, digitised speech (numbers are spoken with digitised speech for auditory feedback, but word problems are not read aloud)
- Integrated maths problem display and scoring
- Editor for creating and editing maths problem files
- Launch another program and pass the answer via the clipboard.
Key Layouts
The teacher can choose from several simple or advanced calculator key layouts to suit specific students and needs. Key names and functions can be edited and reassigned.
Problem Editor
Teachers can view, create and edit the maths problems and save lists of problems. Numeric problems or word problems are entered just as they will be displayed to the student.
Problem Display
Calcu-Scan can display maths problems to be solved by the student using the calculator or by entering the answer directly.
Access Modes
The calculator key layouts can be displayed at any size up to full-screen size – with easy to read keys and digits. Scanning and dwell access (for head-tracking devices), auto, inverse, and one- or two-switch scans are provided.
Teacher Options
The teacher can specify and save Layout, Access, Sound, Misc., and Work options, e.g. scan interval, say value, auditory scan, scroll/normal register, etc. Teachers can also display or print records of student progress.
