AccessIT Bluetooth
by DynaVox Technologies
The AccessIT Bluetooth allows those who cannot access a Windows-based computer through traditional means to do so wirelessly via their DynaVox V+, Vmax+, Xpress or DynaVox Maestro. Users of the DynaVox Vmax or DynaVox V can also use wireless Bluetooth to access their PC provided they purchase and install the additional USB Bluetooth Adapter on their speech device. The AccessIT Bluetooth accessory will not work with a DynaWrite.
Avoid the hassles of using two different keyboards and connecting wires or cables. For ease of use and portability, AccessIT Bluetooth connects to and is powered through the computer’s USB port. And, for individuals challenged by significant communication and physical disabilities, AccessIT Bluetooth provides an easy, streamlined alternative to the traditional computer keyboard.
Benefits
- Pairs to a single communication device
- Multiple AccessIT Bluetooths with multiple devices can be used in the same room at the same time without interference
- Communication device can be oriented in any direction – it is not required to point the device towards the AccessIT Bluetooth
This AccessIT Bluetooth is different from the original AccessIT in that it uses radio waves to communicate between your speech communication device and your computer, instead of infra red light, and therefore does not require the two devices to be in line of sight.
The AccessIT Bluetooth works by transmitting individual keystrokes, the contents of the message window and the mouse movements on your speech device to your computer, enabling you to control your computer from the comfort of your speech device.
The pairing between the AccessIT Bluetooth and the speech device is done via unique ID which means that one speech device will talk to the one AccessIT it’s paired with. In this way, crosstalk in classrooms and computer labs is eliminated; it also eliminates the need to move either device or AccessIT IR accessory to accomplish line-of-sight that is needed.
