What are they?
The AbleNet Communicator Accessories are for use with BIGmacks, LITTLEmacks and Step-by-Step communicators. The AbleNet Travel Strap Belt Mount lets the user wear a LITTLEmack Communicator, LITTLE Step-by-Step Communicator, and Step-by-Step Communicator with Levels like a belt.
The Easy Mounting Base allows you to wall mount any of the devices which also fit the Belt Mount. It is normally included when you purchase a LITTLEmack Communicator, LITTLE Step-by-Step Communicator, Step-by-Step Communicator with Levels, or Airlink Cordless Switch. Only purchase if you need another one.
The AbleNet Travel Strap Shoulder Mount lets the user wear a BIGmack, BIG Step-by-Step, a FL4SH Scanning Communicator and the SuperTalker Progressive Communicator.
Who would use them?
The Travel Straps would be used by people who want portability for their AbleNet Communication device. By making the devices more portable it encourages device use in a range of situations and often increases use of the device since it is always there. This is particularly important if the device is the user’s only way of initiating communication.
The Mounting Base gives users a consistent location to find the communication device. It could be useful to place the device beside a door so that people can ask to go out or to position it in the toilet so that people can call for assistance when they have finished. How do they work?
The Travel Straps are both 2.5cm nylon straps with quick release buckles that can be placed around the waist and lengthened or shortened to fit. The strap slides through the mounting base which is supplied with the LITTLEmack Communicator, LITTLE Step-by-Step Communicator, and Step-by-Step Communicator with Levels or is attached through the mounting points on the BIGmack, BIG Step-by-Step and the SuperTalker Progressive Communicator.
The Mounting Base has a durable plastic base which fits all 6.4cm (2.5”) angled base products.
How can I use it?
The Travel Straps can be used to make a range of AbleNet communication devices portable by wearing them like a belt or shoulder strap. The Mounting Base can be used to mount any of the 6.4cm (2.5”) base units in a consistent place on a wall, door or table.
