Provides interactive, stepwise learning of the skills needed for Web browsing
Integrated into the EIA Web Browser, the Interactive Web Tutorial Plug-in Module leads on naturally from the Awareness Assessment Protocol. It finishes with the option to connect to the World Wide Web.
The interactive tutorial introduces the required Web concepts for people who are unfamiliar with computing, a “push button”, kiosk style Web browser. The tutorial activities include:
- Getting started – Explains the tutorial method
- What is the Internet? – A brief overview of the Internet and the World Wide Web
- The home page – Illustrates the home page concept and the Browser home button
- The back button – Moves forward or back through linked screens with the Browser back button
- Pages and scrolling – Illustrates pages larger than the screen using Browser scroll buttons
- Hypertext links – Uses 3 local “sites” to illustrate increasingly complex hypertext links
- Frames – Illustrates frames and user responses in different parts of the screen
- Onscreen forms – An onscreen “popup” keyboard allows form completion of different field types
- Connect to the Web – Loads a familiar home page with a link to the EIA Website
The tutorial is accessible from within the Browser at any time that the client feels the need to reinforce learning.

- Microsoft Internet Explorer (ver 4/5/5.5/6) installed on your computer
- Pentium class computer with 32MB+ RAM, 1GB+ hard disk, sound card and speakers
