Spectronics has a large amount of information we maintain, so we’ve tried to make searching our site as easy as possible – to make finding what you’re looking for as easy as possible.
Whether searching our catalogue, our library or everything at once – our search engine returns the best results based on many hand picked factors from the name and description of an item to its author or manufacturer.
Check out the tips below to find out how we use these searches to find exactly what we want.
Choosing the right keywords
Searching our website is easy. Simply enter one or a couple of keywords that match what you’re looking for.
For example, to find the product “A Day at Play” you could type in any or all of the words in its name. The search below will find any item with “day” or “play” in its name
To search for an exact phrase, try using quotation marks around the words such as “A day”.
Our search engine reads all letters as lower case to ensure your search reaches all capital letter variations. Searching on “spectronics” will return the same results as “Spectronics”, or even “SpEcTrOnIcS”.
The Wildcard Character *
You may be familiar with this search tip already. It works by understanding the character * to represent “anything”.
For example, searching for “write*” will return results such as Write:OutLoud. It searches for results that start with “write” with the * character representing all possible endings.
In the same way, searching for “*write” will return results which end with “write” such as the DynaWrite.
Finally, searching for “write“ will find anything that contains the word “write”.
N.B. This is the default. If no wild characters are used our search engine will automatically search for results containing your keyword(s).
