Tobii Communicator 4 is a comprehensive AAC and computer control package which allows users to “talk” using their computer, as well as controlling other Windows software. Users can send and receive text messages, launch software on their computer, receive emails and surf the web – as well as having a good chat! Tobii Communicator also offers a range of access options with the right hardware – keyboard and mouse, touch screen, eye gaze, switches and more.

As well as presenting an overview of Tobii Communicator, this presentation will include a case study which will illustrate the software being used by a young man, living in a nursing home, to communicate with friends, family and staff in many different ways. The clinical reasoning behind setting up his communication and access, as well as barriers and positive outcomes using this system, will also be outlined.

The Tobii C8 and Tobii C12 speech generating devices, the Tobii CEye eye control module and the new Tobii SonoSuite will also be demonstrated.
