Literacy with Clicker and Beyond: Writing Across All Ages

This workshop will focus on the versatility and ease of use of both Clicker 5 and WriteOnline. This is a great opportunity to use both programs in order to create stimulating, relevant and differentiated materials suitable for many different learners – from emergent readers and writers to budding authors.

The session will follow the format of demonstration and hands-on. We will look at a range of literacy activities and how to create different kinds of appropriate writing support materials. For example we will use a range of sentence building templates as well as different book templates for the emergent writer. For older struggling writers we will use a variety of writing frames, and for some adult users and /or second language users we will demonstrate how to use Clicker to improve their understanding of their environment.

Participants will learn to use the many features that make both programs such flexible and easy-to-use tools and will each receive a USB Memory Stick to use at the session and to take away for later use. This will include Clicker and WriteOnline materials as well as a Hints and Tips sheet to remind you of what you have learned.

Please note: This is a BYO laptop workshop. You will need a laptop with the ability to use a wireless Internet connection. If you do not already have Clicker 5 installed on your computer, a copy will be provided for the day and you will need administrative access to your laptop to be able to install the software. Please ensure your computer meets the systems specifications required to run Clicker 5. For information on this please see – www.spectronicsinoz.com/product/clicker-5-anz-australiannew-zealand-version
