Jane Whitten
Jane Whitten and Judy Hunter-Dickson are the Inclusive Technologies Team with the ACT Dept of Education and Training. They are responsible for assessing and supporting the technology needs of students with disabilities.
Jane has been working in education in Canada and in the ACT for over thirty years in mainstream and special education settings at primary and high schools levels where she also worked as a school counsellor and as a behaviour therapist. She has taught special education courses at the university level as well as being the owner and director of a private educational service providing assessment, programming, and intervention for learners of all ages. She has a Masters in Applied Psych and has presented on a variety of topics at conferences in both Australia and Canada. A major focus for her is the development of quality differentiated curriculum and ensuring that there are multiple ways of presenting information to students, providing them with alternatives for expressing their ideas, and finding different ways to keep them motivated. And when Jane is not creating with technology she is creating baskets… out of anything.
