Inclusive Learning Technologies Conference 2012

The Inclusive Learning Technologies Conference returns in 2012 and planning is already well underway! At the Inclusive Learning Technologies® Conference in May 2010 we had 700 delegates join us at the Marriott Surfers Paradise for four intensive days of motivating and inspirational workshops and presentations. The Inclusive Learning Technologies® Conference 2012 is already shaping up to be bigger and better so we have booked a MUCH bigger venue (still on Queensland's Gold Coast) to ensure everyone has room to move, and is able to attend their preferred sessions! Be sure to register your details to receive regular updates as the exciting plans come together for the conference.
Spend just four minutes viewing our video. You'll understand then why you need to join us in May. :)

What is the Inclusive Learning Technologies® Conference 2012 about?
Hosted by Spectronics, the conference focuses specifically on "inclusive learning technologies" - technologies designed to advance independent achievement for people with disabilities and/or students with learning difficulties. It includes sessions looking at these technologies in the following three interest streams.- Struggling Students*
- People with Complex Communication Needs
- People with Disabilities
*What do we mean by "struggling students"? Here we are talking about students who are in Regular Ed settings but are struggling to keep up with the reading, writing or organisational tasks required of them. These students may be struggling because of learning difficulties. Alternatively, they could be one of the growing number of ESL (English as a Second Language) students in our schools and post-secondary institutions.
What will be different at the 2012 Conference?

Bigger hands-on Labs
Bigger hands-on Apple Mac Laptop Lab and BYO Windows Laptop sessionsSession Pre-booking will be back!
Pre-booking of session is back! But it is optional. If you want to "pre-select" the sessions you wish to attend, you are able to do so when registering, or at a later time when it is more convenient for you. This will ensure you have a guaranteed place in your preferred sessions and will help us to work out which sessions need to be allocated bigger rooms. If you don't want to pre-select and just wish to "wing it" whilst at the conference, that will be fine too.
How much does it cost?
Given that we have had to book a much bigger venue to ensure delegate comfort and session availability to ALL who wish to attend each session, it has been necessary to increase registration fees - but only ever-so-slightly! We have worked hard to keep the fees constant over the past four years, but despite our best efforts, we simply cannot cover the costs of the 2012 conference with registration fees held at 2006 prices.
However, the accommodation rates we've negotiated with Jupiters Hotel Gold Coast are lower than in previous years - meaning a saving for our delegates who wish to have the convenience of staying on-site at the conference venue. By using Jupiters Hotel accommodation, you also help us to keep future registration fee increases to a minimum. The more rooms booked at Jupiters by conference delegates, the less the cost of the venue hire to us, meaning we are effectively able to pass these savings onto you.

FREE iPads for the duration of the Conference - now fully allocated
As an added incentive to register early, the first 200 delegates who registered for the "I Want Everything" package have been offered the use of an iPad free-of-charge for the full four days of the conference! If you don't already have an iPad to bring with you to the conference, this offers a great opportunity to explore firsthand how the iPad might be of benefit to your students, your teaching, your therapy interventions, or just for your own use.
There will be a focus on mobile learning throughout the conference in many of the sessions - including an iPad lab for hands-on learning sessions.
If you have missed out on this opportunity but are keen to put your name on our waitlist, please complete your "I Want Everything" registration online as soon as possible. We will then be in touch should one become available closer to the conference.
We are also really excited that our clever development team is working away on a very cool app to enhance your experience both at the conference and in planning before you arrive on-site. The app will be designed to work on an iPad, iPod touch, iPhone and all other web enabled smart phones - so please do bring them with you to the conference!
Free wireless Internet access will be available to all throughout the conference pavilion too of course.
Early Bird Conference Registration Prize
The early bird conference registration prize was randomly drawn on Tuesday 10th April - it sure was a big draw with over 900 delegates in the pool! A big congratulations to Kathy Johns of Queensland. She is the lucky winner of the dinner vouchers valued at $200.
