EIA (Enhancing Internet Access) Software Suite
A specialised Web Browser, suitable for touchscreen systems, with optional fully integrated assessment and Web training modules
The EIA System is designed for use in:
- Rehabilitation centres
- Libraries and public Internet access sites
- Disability support environments
- Private clinics
- Specialised individual use
Main features include:
- Easy and intuitive to use
- Designed primarily for touchscreen use but also available with IntelliKeys interface
- Non-threatening interface strips away computer “clutter” and confusion
- Context sensitive, “pop-up” keyboard extends touchscreen capability (standard mouse and keyboard access is retained)
- Compatible with the Microsoft Internet Explorer Browser
EIA stands for “Enhancing Internet Access” and is an outcome of a 1997-98 project funded by the Australian Department of Communications and the Arts to enhance Internet awareness and access for people with disabilities. Developed by ELR Software Pty Ltd, the project team included Dr Rob Seiler (computer consultant), Ms Toni Seiler (speech pathologist) and Ms Judy Ireland (occupational therapist).
