Spectronics team en masse in Perth this week!

Just thought I’d post this note up in case you are in Perth or Fremantle and surrounds and were not aware that the Spectronics team is “in town” for the week. Originally it was just to be Greg O’Connor and Charlene Cullen – but Jane Farrall has now joined them too. Jane is helping out with presentations at the “More Than Gadgets” Conference being held today and tomorrow – as the organisers had to deal with the last-minute significant hitch of Kelly Fonner being unable to join them from the USA because of illness. Jane and Greg have stepped up to help out. Well done guys.

After the conference, we will be running a full day hands-on Texthelp Read&Write GOLD workshop and two days of hands-on DynaVox workshops. More details and online rego are available at http://www.spectronicsinoz.com/register – with places are still available in two of these three free workshops.

If you are emailing Jane, Greg or Charlene with requests for advice – they may be a little slower than normal to respond because of their very week ahead. They will definitely be trying to answer you as quickly as they can though. :-)

Hi! I had a great time at the More than Gadget’s Conference and co-presented on the first day, re: AT and it’s application in the Four Block’s Literacy Framework. Jane’s presentations were fantastic and mentioned that she would make them accessible online…am I in the correct place? I would like to encourage parents and colleagues who were unable to make the conference, to gain from what I learned too. Thanks! :)

    • Jane Farrall says:

      Hi Natalie,

I’m glad you enjoyed More than Gadgets. We did too – the enthusiasm and the knowledge was fantastic. I was also so pleased to see your presentation in the program – love the Four Blocks!

You are definitely in the right place for the presentations. We will be putting them up later today. If you check back tomorrow they should all be up then.

I look forward to talking with you more about what you are doing with the Four Blocks.

      Jane

I could not make it to Perth but you certainly managed to cause great excitment with all involved with inclusive schooling – WELL DONE!!
As a parent I think the Spectronics team is great in all departments. I bought my son the Choose It Literacy and Numeracy series and he just loves it ( I love it because it’s a great teaching tool and quick results). Jane Farrall can I forward your presentation on “literacy for all” to my son’s school – it’s fantastic. We live in a remote area so it was difficult and expensive for parents and/or teaching staff to attend. Keep up the great work and thanks for being there.

  3. Jane Farrall says:

    HI Caterina,

Glad to hear we caused excitement! You are definitely welcome to share the copy of the presentation – and I hope it is useful.

    Jane :)
