- 000 kids challenge with captioning
The Australian Government has released a lovely new accessible, captioned online game, designed to help children learn how to use 000, and what to expect after they’ve dialed 000.
Triple Zero Kid’s Challenge is an Australian game designed for kids of kindergarten and primary school age and consists of nine safety scenarios. The game features Kate and Peter who find themselves in different scenarios that require them to use the 000 emergency number. The game is fun and easy to use, it includes captioned narration and voice-over, and kids interact with it by clicking on items. The scenarios in the Triple Zero Kid’s Challenge are also captioned to include dialogue, who is speaking and non-speech information that is conveyed through sound, such as the dog barking in scenario one. To turn captioning on or off, click on the button at the top right of the game screen.

Leonie
Hi Leonie
There is no CD of this game. The FAQ section of the website, http://kids.triplezero.gov.au/faqs.php?lang=en, has the following answer:
Do I need a CD-ROM to play the game?
No, you can play the game if you internet access.
However, you can install the game on a computer via a download – helpful for schools and families with slow internet connections. A downloadable version is available at http://kids.triplezero.gov.au/teachers.php?lang=en
