You asked…..and we listened! We are so excited to bring you our apps for Special Education list. Starting with just 60 of our favourites (It was SO hard to choose!), this list is a growing and active list so be sure to check in from time to time as it promises to get bigger.
We are aware of the many app lists that currently exist, so you might ask what sets ours apart?
Our list includes apps for Reading & Writing; Mathematics; Early Learning; Cause & Effect; Visual Supports; Social Stories; Life Skills; Positive Behaviour Support and Classroom Organisation. We have tried to bring you a review of the app features that we are asked about in schools, during training and out on the road. These include comments on accessibility, differentiation, reporting and feedback, publishing and connectivity. These fields correlate to many of the app rubrics that are used to determine the effectiveness of an app in a particular setting – acknowledgement to Greg Alchin for his great work here.
Don’t forget to check out our other app lists too! There is our apps for Literacy Support list compiled and regularly updated by the Spectronics Consultancy team, and the apps for AAC list, compiled and updated by our good friend Jane Farrall.
