Proloquo2Go turning the iPad into a communication device | Workshops in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne soon!

iPads running Proloquo2Go showing onscreen keyboard and communication pages

Have you been considering using an iPad to support communication by students with disabilities? Disabilities which make it difficult for them to use their own voice to communicate? If so, it is likely that you have heard about the popular Proloquo2Go app on the iPad downloaded by over 50,000 users worldwide to date. You may also be aware of the new features now built into the recently released Proloquo2Go Version 3 (complete with Australian voices and support for students whose physical disabilities mean they need to use switches to drive iPad apps).

The Spectronics Consultancy Team have developed a new workshop "Proloquo2Go: Making it work for you" specifically designed to get you up-to-speed with the latest version of the app. You will learn how to customise the app to achieve individual communication goals for your students. You will also better understand how the iPad compares with "dedicated" speech generating devices. There are benefits going down the app/iPad route. And there are areas where the app/iPad option fails to match the comprehensive suite of features and options offered by dedicated devices such as those by DynaVox, Tobii, PRC and more.

Join us for one of our one-day workshops in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne where we are offering two workshop formats. Workshop One is to be held within school hours and will be a hands-on workshop stepping through Proloquo2Go customisation. Workshop Two is a fast-paced non-hands-on two hour overview of Proloquo2Go running after school hours. Great if you are unable to attend in school hours, or if you just want a quick overview without having to actually work through hands-on activities. You are of course welcome to attend both on the one day too if you wish to really consolidate your learning with some repetition of content in the after-school session!
