Although several members of the Spectronics team are therapists and teachers experienced with special needs technologies, we do not offer assessment services to determine the individual technology needs of people with disabilities. We much prefer that such assessments are provided by the skilled Assistive Technology Assessment Teams – based in Independent Living Centres; Cerebral Palsy Associations, Education Departments, and other specialist centres.
We also feel confident in the quality of the assessment and advisory services of the Private Technology Consultants recommended on this web site. This group of teachers and therapists are part of a new breed of consultants emerging in the special education and assistive technology fields. You can feel confident in the truly independent nature of their advice. We are very happy to recommend their assessment and advisory services to you too.
The advisory services offered by Spectronics staff relate more to applications of our products in meeting the educational goals of individual students, and in meeting the broader educational goals of the class and the school as a whole. We are able to travel, on a fee-for-service basis, to provide services on-site at your school. Please contact Spectronics for more details.
