Read&Write GOLD Version 8: Adding Text from the Web, Clibboard, or a Saved Document into the Fact Folder

Let’s start from the beginning and capture some new facts (text) into the Fact Folder from a web page.
- Open a web page. Highlight some text you want to save into your fact folder.

- Click on Fact Folder icon.
- You will see a Fact Details window displayed as follows:

- You may change the title to suit if required. (The website addresses of any web pages you have open are automatically added to the Sources list box.)
- If you want to place this information into a category (eg the topic you are collecting on), select Category.
- Add a category name by clicking on ADD

- Click OK

- Click OK

Adding a document to your Fact Folder
- With the Fact Details window open, go to Sources and click on the green plus (+) sign.

- Browse on your computer to find the source document you want to add and select it and click on OPEN.
- You will now notice that the document is stored with your original information copied from the web page in the Sources section.

- Click OK.
Adding facts to the Fact Folder from the Clipboard
- Find text you want to copy and save into your Fact Folder (could be from a web page, Word document etc)
- Highlight – edit – copy (to clipboard.)
- Go to the drop down menu next to the Fact Folder icon on the Read and write toolbar. Select Add Clipboard Contents.

- A new Fact Details window will be opened. You may alter the title if you wish. Make sure you allocate a category for your information.

With this window open you can drag and drop a document into the Sources section to add more information to your Fact Folder if you wish.
