The Other Way To Read

This powerful new learning tool taps into the natural strengths of the dyslexic thinking style to build certainty, confidence and enjoyment around the reading process.

While possessing all the support features of text-to-speech software, spell-checkers and auditory feedback programmes, ReadOn actually teaches as it supports, building skill and self-reliance through its unique Learning Vortex concept.

ReadOn has been designed with maximum versatility in mind. Text tailored to the reading age and interests of the individual student can be typed, pasted or scanned into ReadOn. Students can input Internet and book-based materials that stimulate their own curiosity; ReadOn converts these materials into reading teaching material so students can find excitement in reading, sometimes for the first time.

  • Well suited for the visual or kinaesthetic thinker
  • Builds certainty and confidence around word recognition; eliminates the need for guessing
  • Builds knowledge of the sequential ordering of letters in words
  • Difficult words can be “auto-logged” for individual students, so that special instruction in these words can be given
  • Versatile: text of any kind can be typed, pasted or scanned in via a special Write Mode; wide choice of fonts, colour schemes and voicesThe Gift of Dyslexia cover image
  • Based on the innovative Davis® Reading Strategies as described in Ronald Davis’s internationally best-selling book, “The Gift of Dyslexia”; can be used in combination with a Davis Dyslexia Correction Programme and the Davis Learning Strategies Classroom Programme
  • Methods are complimentary to, but not reliant on, phonic approaches and therefore especially recommended for students with low phonemic awareness

Though designed with the dyslexic student in mind, ReadOn also has many mainstream class learning applications, especially in the early years.
