Making a Clicker Grid

Get Adobe Reader

  1. Open Clicker 5.
  2. Choose Create New Grid Set.

  3. Double click Word Banks.

  4. Double click Word Banks again.

  5. Select 3×3.

    New 3x3 Grid Set

  6. Click Create.
  7. Press the shift key then left click so you see the cursor in the first cell.
  8. Type the word “Kangaroos.” (Pictures will only appear in cells…)
  9. Press the tab key to move the cursor to the next cell in the grid.

    Filling in cells

  10. Type “have” in the cell. Press tab to move to the next cell.
  11. Type “a pouch (full stop).” Press tab to move to the next cell.
  12. Type “Koalas”. Press tab to move to the next cell.
  13. Type “climb” in the next cell. Press tab to move to the next cell.
  14. Type “trees (full stop)”. Press tab.
  15. Type “Frogs”. Press tab.
  16. Type “swim.” Press tab.
  17. Type “in water(full stop).” Press Enter.

    Filling out the cells

  18. Go to File.
  19. Save Grid Set.
  20. In the box next to File name: type in Australian animal sentences.

  21. Click Save.

* Pictures will only appear in cells:

  • if there are pictures associated with the word being typed in the Crick Picture library or other active picture library being used, or
  • if “Use Instant Pictures in Cells” option has been selected. To select this last option follow these steps:

    1. Go to File.
    2. Settings.
    3. Picture and Sound Libraries.
    4. Click in the box to place a tick beside “Use Instant Pictures in Cells.”
    5. Click OK.
