PLEASE NOTE: These voices require that Texthelp Read&Write Version 7.1 or Texthelp Read&Write GOLD Version 7.1 is installed first on your computer. Previous versions of Read&Write are not compatible with this new Australian Voice format.

1. Install Texthelp Read&Write 7.1 or Texthelp Read&Write GOLD 7.1
   
2. Insert the Nuance (formerly ScanSoft) Solo Australian Voices CD into the CD Drive
   
3. Follow the onscreen instructions as the CD-ROM will “autorun”
   

4. Click Next and follow the prompt.
   
5. When the following screen appears, click Finish and the Karen and Lee voices have then been successfully installed.
   

6. Remove the Nuance (formerly ScanSoft) Solo Australian Voices CD-ROM
   
7. Open up the Texthelp Read&Write 7.1 or Read&Write GOLD 7.1 program
   
8. Click on Speech Options in the Speech Drop Down menu in the Read&Write toolbar
   

9. When the Speech Options Dialogue box opens, make sure the checkbox
   next to Use SAPI 5 voices has a tick in it.
   

10. Click on the Search button and the program will automatically search for all installed SAPI 5 voices on your computer.
    

11. Add a tick to the box next to Nuance (formerly ScanSoft) Karen and Lee (the Australian voices which you have just installed).
    

12. Then use the dropdown arrow in the Speech Options Dialogue box to
    select the Nuance (formerly ScanSoft) Karen or Lee Voice.

    Your documents should then be spoken aloud in Texthelp Read&Write with Karen or Lee’s Australian accent!
