How to install the Clicker 5 (release 2) updater from a CD

Create a folder on your desktop and name it Clicker 5 Updater.
Put the Spectronics Clicker 5 Updater CD into your CD drive.
Open your CD and copy and paste the file into the folder on your desktop.
When this is finished, remove the Spectronics Clicker 5 Updater CD from your CD drive.
Open the folder on your desktop Clicker 5 Updater. The following window should appear:

Double-click on the file.
One of two things will occur:
- The installer will start to install – or
- A window will open and ask you to choose the program you want to run the installer with.
If this occurs:
You will see this window (see right) asking you to choose the program:
Scroll through the list until you see msiexec
Then click on msiexec and OK. The installer should now work.
Some people may receive the following message:

If this occurs, please click OK to exit out of the window. Close the window which has the update file in it.
There are two things which may need to be completed to have the updater install.
- Make sure that you have a full working copy of the msiexec program.
To do this:
- Put the Clicker 5 CD into the CD drive and cancel and exit the installation window when it starts
- Open My Computer
- Right mouse-click on the CD-ROM drive and select Explore
- It will now list all the files and folders on the Clicker 5 CD
- Locate and double-click on the InstmsiA file and it will install the Windows installer
- Then open the Clicker 5 patch again from your folder on your desktop and double-click the installer.
- Put the Clicker 5 CD into the CD drive and cancel and exit the installation window when it starts
- If again, this does not work, then copy the Clicker 5 patch file onto your C drive.
- To do this:
- Click on the patch on your folder on your desktop
- Click on Edit
- Click on Copy
- Close the folder
- Click on Windows Explorer to get to your C drive
- Double-click on C:
- Click on Paste
- The patch will now be pasted into your C drive

- Close C drive
- Click on the patch on your folder on your desktop
- Now you need to install the update.
To do this:
- Click on Start
- Click on Run
- Type in the box the following exactly as it is stated here except where there is an X – Click on your space bar:
msiexecX/pX“c:C5stdUKv510.msp”
- Click on OK.
- Click on Start
- To do this:
Now you will see a screen saying preparing to install:

Click Next, you will see the following window and the files will start to install:

The following window appears:

Put the Clicker 5 CD into the CD drive and press OK.
It opens the Clicker 5 installer section of the Clicker 5 CD – ignore this (close it).
It gives a window showing the files installing.
Please Note: If you are using a Windows 98 or Windows ME computer system, you will see the following window appear over the top of the window showing the files being installed.
It will show the Internal Error 2720.2 – ignore this (click on OK).

Both windows will close and you will see:

Ignore this window and click on OK.
Although when using Windows 98 or Windows ME, you will not be given a window which tells you the installation has been completed successfully – it has been completed successfully.
If you are using other Windows Operating Systems (besides Windows 98 and ME) you will see the following window:

Click on Finish.
Take out your Clicker 5 CD and re-boot your system.
Start Clicker 5. Click on Help. Click on About Clicker 5 and check that your version of Clicker 5 now states version 5.10 – as shown in the box below:

You should now have the new switch access and spell-checking features.
