Do I have to use a touchscreen?
No, the EIA Browser is not in any way dependent on a touchscreen – they just offer a generally easy and intuitive way to use the computer. For users with only a cognitive difficulty, a regular mouse may be sufficient. Others with a physical difficulty may benefit from some other alternative keyboard device.

How do I enter the URL of a page I want to browse?
The EIA Browser (currently) has no in-built method to allow users to enter their own URL selections (this is primarily to inhibit abuse of such a facility in public locations). However it is possible to use a simple form to handle this request, either on a “Click-on-A:” disk, or on a regular Web page made accessible to the Browser. See the example “Homepage.htm” included in the EIA Program folder.

How do I stop users exiting the program in unattended locations?
Disable the Exit button, Ctl/Alt/Del/Tab/Esc, Allow Mouse Right-Click, and Allow Mouse Double-Click in the INI file.

What is the “Click-on-A:” button for?
This button, if enabled, loads the page “Homepage.htm” from any floppy disk in Drive A:. This is a convenient way of providing a user with their own set(s) of Web links pages (see the example “Homepage.htm” included in the EIA Program folder).

What is the difference between the “Home” and “Finish” Browser buttons?
Home will navigate the Browser back to the defined Home page. Finish essentially restarts the Browser at the Start screen (from where a program Exit button is usually available). If a Custom Start has been defined, the Home and Start pages may be the same.

I am having trouble getting some site/pages to load. Why?
The EIA Browser attempts to load and display any pages which comply with “current”, accessible Web design principles – some unusual pages may be “incompatible”. Try switching on Error Logging in the INI file, and supply us with the version details of the program you are using and a copy of a log file recording such problematic sites.

Some sites/pages don’t trigger the Browser scroll buttons. Why?
Please see comments regarding problem pages above.

How do I know what version of EIA I am using?
If EIA is running, look at the top of the “Help” page within the Browser. Alternatively, run EIA with a “/V” parameter.
